NCMA regions
NCMA
is divided into 10 regions across England and Wales. These regions
are not identical in geographical size or the number of local
authorities within them, and each one operates slightly
differently.
When you join NCMA you automatically become a member of the
region in which you live. Much of NCMA’s membership involvement is
based on this regional structure.
NCMA seeks the views of its members through Regional Forums which take place three times a
year during which NCMA members can debate hot topics and put
forward suggestions to NCMA.
Annual Regional Meetings
Each NCMA region holds an Annual Regional Meeting (ARM) each
year.
At this ARM, NCMA members in the region discuss and vote on
issues that affect their region. Every two years (or more
frequently if there are vacancies) the regional members will elect
two local members to act as the region’s representatives on the
NCMA National Policy Forum (NPF).
This is an important role as these two members will be
responsible for taking the region’s views back to NCMA following
each Regional Forum.
