Chair

Sue Davis became Chair of NCMA at the Annual
General Meeting on 24 September 2011. Sue has been a trustee and
Chair of a number of national and regional boards, as well as a
local councillor and school governor.
Sue Davis said, "I believe home-based
childcare contributes so much to the wellbeing of children, and
that childminders and nannies do not get the credit they deserve
for the really important job they do.
"I am very conscious of taking over at a time
when central and local government is cutting back on the training
and support offered to childminders and nannies. I will strive to
ensure that NCMA - as their professional association - does all it
can with its limited resources, to provide the support members need
to continue to deliver high quality care to children and their
families.
"As Chair I am looking forward to working with
trustees, volunteers, members and staff to ensure that greater
recognition is given to the profession, and the professionals, that
NCMA represents."
NCMA’s Chair leads the Association’s Board and attends National
Policy Forum meetings. She works closely with the Joint Chief
Executives and acts as an ambassador for the Association.
