Working with families

Two girls playingChildminders play a huge role in a child's daily life and can become valuable members of the family. But the key to maintaining a good working relationship is to make sure the childminding arrangement starts out and remains businesslike.

A well written contract is essential, as this sets out the detail of the agreement clearly. Both the childminder and the parent(s) should carefully read, agree and sign the contract before the arrangement begins.

NCMA sells a range of childminding contracts for childminders and parents to complete through its online shop (external link) or over the phone on 0845 880 0044.

If you are an NCMA member using an NCMA contract signed by both yourself and the child’s parents/guardians, then you may also benefit from free legal representation as part of your membership package, so join us today.

NCMA members can also benefit from telephone support from the legal team when completing contracts with parents.
