What NCMA membership means
If your childminder is a member of the National
Childminding Association, they show commitment to their
profession.
Initial childminding training
NCMA has helped to develop a unit of the new Diploma for the
Children and Young People's Workforce.
NCMA recomends that all new childminders and
nannies undertake the unit "Understand how to set up a home-based
childcare service". It will help to equip learners with all
the skills they need to set up a successful childminding business.
Find out more about childminding training here.
Quality improvement
NCMA helps and encourages its members to continue their
professional development throughout their careers to better support
the children and families they work with.
NCMA Children Come First is a quality improvement scheme for
childminding networks. NCMA works closely with children's centres
and local authorities to help set up and run childminding
networks.
