Live-in childcare
Nannies work in a family’s home, caring for their child or
children. Some nannies live with the family, others come to work
daily and others work for two or more families.
Because your child is cared for at home, they have their own
toys, books and games close at hand. You can also keep lots of
control over your child’s routine, diet, activities and play
environment.
Nannies can also babysit in the evening and look after your
child while you’re away – or even come away with you to provide
childcare on holiday.
Disabled children
Nannies, like childminders, can offer support for parents with
disabled children. Caring for your child on a one-to-one basis,
they can provide tailored care, specific to the child’s needs.
Nannies can also look after your children when they’re poorly.
