Children's centres
NCMA has submitted evidence to a Department of Children Schools
and Families Select Committee hearing on Children's Centres.
The inquiry will look at a number of issues including the
different models of children's centres, and the range and
effectiveness of services provided by centres. It will also
looking funding and whether centres are good value for money and
how well centres work with other partners and services - including
childminders.
NCMA took the opportunity to share the findings from its
Children's Centre Survey 2008 with the Select Committee and offer
to give more evidence at an oral session if appropriate to ensure
the good work childminders do collaboratively delivering services
with local centres is recognised along with the opportunities that
exist to develop this further in more locations.
