Early intervention
NCMA has responded to Graham Allen MP's call for evidence into
the Independent Review on Early Intervention
Delivery.
Registered childminders help to contribute to children’s social
and emotional development through the provision of high quality
childcare and early learning. This provision can also help to
prevent the intergenerational cycle of disadvantage and
underachievement by helping parents to take up work or further
education opportunities.
Childminders may also work with social services on early
intervention projects to support vulnerable or disadvantaged
families in times of need. This is especially the case when
working as part of a childminding network, which not only supports
families to access flexible childcare, but also provides a quality
improvement mechanism for those childminders on the network.
