A fabulous week of fun

Childminder and child playing pianoNational Childminding Week 2010 - "Reaching the right notes" was a great success, with hundreds of events throughout England and Wales.

The week kicked off with a letter in many local newspapers from Susanna Dawson, NCMA's Chair, outlining the benefits of home-based childcare.

Other highlights of the week included Wales' Biggest Smallest Choir, where over 20 events were held around Wales involving hundreds of children and their childminders.

Elsewhere, parents, nannies, childminders and children alike joined with the musical theme in many creative ways, making instruments, singing to elderly residents at a home, dancing and signing to music.

MPs and Welsh Assembly Members also had fun and joined in with some of the events.

Celebrating National Childminding WeekWho Minds? magazine will be featuring some of the highlights in its August/September issue.
