Children in need in childcare
NCMA Press Office (09/03/2010)
Ofsted has released a small-scale survey identifying some
of the factors that contributed to good outcomes for children in
need in a range of different types of early years and childcare
settings.
NCMA supported Ofsted in providing case studies which were
released with the report.
Andrew Fletcher, NCMA Joint Chief Executive, said: "This report
is very welcome as it highlights the excellent work done by
dedicated childcare professionals to support all children to
achieve their full potential.
"We know that many families with disabled children choose
registered childminders. This is because their home environment
offers a greater degree of individual care and can complement care
provided in partnership with other children’s services.
"I hope this important report will illustrate
to local authorities the benefits of investing in specialist
childminders and childminding networks to benefit disabled children
and their families."
