Elizabeth Jarman supports NCMW
Elizabeth Jarman is supporting this year’s music
themed National Childminding Week in Bristol.
Elizabeth, former assistant director with the
Basic Skills Agency, who also led the Government’s national Skills
for Families Project, will be in the city on Thursday 17 June ,
talking to childminders and families about Communication Friendly
Spaces™.
An interactive exhibition, developed jointly
with NCMA and showcasing how the approach has been used by
childminders to support children’s communication skills, will be on
display all week at the Bristol Central Library. Elizabeth will be
meeting all visitors and families at the exhibition on 17 June
between 3-5pm.
Elizabeth will then address around 40
registered childminders at The Pavilion. After her talk, she will
be signing copies of her Childminder Place to Talk book, which
demonstrates her ideas in practice.
Elizabeth said that "childminders have really
run with the ideas underpinning Communication Friendly Spaces™ and
demonstrated some fantastic practice in the home context, centred
on their close relationships with children and families."
