National Childminding Week 2010 forward planning
Registered childminders and nannies are reaching the
right notes during National Childminding Week 2010
Registered childminders and nannies in England
and Wales will be holding musical themed events to promote the
benefits of home-based childcare during National Childminding Week
2010.
Organised by the National Childminding Association (NCMA) the
week runs from Saturday 12 June to Saturday 19 June. The theme is
"reaching the right notes" and childminders and nannies will be
celebrating quality home-based childcare by singing a special song
for parents and children.
During the week, registered childminders and nannies will be
holding fun events and inviting their local councillors, Mayors,
MPs and Assembly Members along to hear a specially written song by
Piccolo Music, “An Ode to Childminding”.
Andrew Fletcher, Joint Chief Executive of NCMA said:
"Each year NCMA celebrates the great work registered
childminders and nannies do in providing high-quality childcare in
a home environment. We chose music as a theme this year to tie with
the National Year of Music and we are very excited to have a song
written for NCMA by Piccolo Music.
"The special childminding words reflect the busy and exciting
day filled with fun, play and learning opportunities that children
have at a home-based childcare setting. We hope parents, their
children and childcare providers will join in and perform the song
across England and Wales."
The words to "An Ode to Childminding" and further information
will be available to download from the National
Childminding Week pages of this website from Monday
31st May 2010.
