Vetting and barring - your views

On 15 June 2010, the Government called a halt to the proposed Vetting and Barring scheme pending a full review.

The intention is to make it less prescriptive and to adopt a more "common sense" approach.

Registered childminders who have already had Criminal Records Bureau disclosures would not have had to register under the new scheme until April 2011, but any assistants a registered childminder wanted to employ, or a newly registering childminder, were due to have registered under the scheme from 26 July 2010.

We're keen to hear the views of childminders about the changes announced by Government. Please complete the short form below.

Do you think the government was right to halt the Vetting and Barring scheme?
