An outstanding childminder
Mary Hewson from Leeds said she aspired to be the best she
could be and received ‘Outstanding’ from Ofsted this year.
"The theme of Aspiration for National Childminding Week really
resonates with me.
"I aspired to be the best I could be and, at 55 I
completed my Level 3 Diploma in Home-based Childcare and have just
received Outstanding from Ofsted.
"You can achieve. I came from nothing. I am older, I hope it
will inspire a lot of younger childminders, if they can see what I
can achieve, it will give them encouragement."
National Childminding Week runs from 4-11
June. This year’s theme is Aspiration, and during the week NCMA
will be highlighting the great work registered childminders and
nannies do in helping children to consider their future
aspirations.
The week will also celebrate the aspirations
of registered childminders and nannies in increasing their
professional development and future career opportunities.
