Changes to Welsh standards
National
Minimum Standards Wales – Update
The updated National Minimum Standards for
Regulated Child Care are now available in Wales.
There are now 24 standards as opposed to the
previous 21. The standards are broadly consistent with the previous
2002 standards but there are some additions that childminders will
need to be aware of.
Below we have outlined the additional
standards that have been added, along with page numbers:
- Quality of Care
Standard 8 – Nurture and well-being (page 23)
- Conduct and management of service
Standard 14 – Organisation (page 34)
- Complaints, Protection and notifications of
significant events
Standard 21 – Notification of significant events (Page 43)
