New childcare costs survey
Two charities have got together to
ask around 70,000 parents about their childcare costs in the
largest ever survey into the effect of childcare costs on
families.
The Daycare Trust and Save the Children will use
the survey to ask the government to consider the impact of the
costs of childcare on families and the pricing out of lower income
families from accessing childcare.
NCMA knows that good quality
childcare can make a huge difference to children's life chances and
we know from our own membership survey that registered
childminders generally have lower fees than other providers.
We will be monitoring the results
of this survey to see what proportion of a family's income is used
to pay for childcare and the level of financial support
provided.
Childcare providers can also
distribute the survey to the parents who use their
services. To view the report and see how you can be involved,

the Children's website.
