New networks funding announced
NCMA has secured Government funding to develop home-based
childcare networks across England.
The organisation has been successful in its application to the
Department for Education (DfE) for funding in support of the
development of home-based childcare networks in England.
Over the next two years NCMA will use the £1.1million funding to
create a national infrastructure of networks which will support
home-based childcare professionals and will have a strong focus on
professional development and quality improvement.
Responding to the announcement, NCMA's Joint Chief Executive,
Catherine Farrell, said, "We are delighted that the Department for
Education has chosen to support NCMA to create a national
membership network for home-based childcare professionals.
"Home-based childcare is a fundamental part of Early Years
provision in England and the DfE funding will enable NCMA to create
an infrastructure to support our members in their ongoing work on
quality improvement and professional development, which will in
turn offer enormous potential benefits to children and their
families."
