Policy resolutions
Do you have a topic or issue that you would like other
childminders and nannies to discuss? Is there something you would
like NCMA to campaign on?
If you’re a childcarer member of NCMA and you’re aware of a
widespread issue that you think NCMA members should talk about and
vote on, now is your chance to suggest it.
NCMA is inviting members to put forward topics for discussion as
part of NCMA’s annual Policy Debate.
Each year NCMA members put forward topics for resolutions to be
discussed and voted on by the NCMA membership. All of the
resolutions are put forward by NCMA members and so it is one of the
main ways NCMA gathers members’ views.
It’s the only time in the year when every member of NCMA is
individually asked their views on an issue and a vote taken. The
results of the voting give NCMA a definitive answer about whether
or not members support an issue.
The debate is one way members can raise awareness of important
issues, or that you think should be being discussed. NCMA acts on
the outcome of the resolutions and so you can directly influence
NCMA’s work by putting forward a resolution.
If you’re a member, you can find out more about putting forward an idea
for a resolution here. Members have until Monday 13 June to
suggest topics for debate.
The Policy Debate takes place during NCMA’s Annual Conference
in November and will be held on 5 November in 2011.
