NCMA member wins Woman of the Year
NCMA member Jackie Millerchip has won ITV1's
Lorraine Inspirational Woman of the Year Award.
Jackie was nominated by her friend Sarah
Fildes and was chosen from hundreds of nominees to become
Inspirational Woman of the Year.
Three finalists appeared on ITV with
Lorraine Kelly last week and viewers were then invited to
vote online for the Inspirational Woman of the Year. Jackie was
announced the winner yesterday during the Women of the Year Lunch,
at the Intercontinental Hotel in London.
Jackie, from Hinckley in Leicestershire, has
been a registered childminder for 20 years and is dedicated to
caring for disabled children alongside non-disabled children in a
home-from-home environment.
Jackie now cares for up to 20 disabled
children and has invested thousands of pounds in her setting,
creating a special sensory cabin in her back garden and converting
the entire ground floor of her home.
