National Minimum Standards
Following the introduction of new National
Minimum Standards for childcare providers, which came into force in
April this year, NCMA Cymru has been collecting your feedback and
working with Welsh Government and the CSSIW to clarify several
important elements in the new standards. We hope to be able to
provide guidance on this matter very soon.
Also on the subject of National Minimum
Standards, North Wales Assembly Member Mark Isherwood has submitted
the following questions to the Minister for Health and Social
Services seeking clarification about updating the standards and
consultation with the sector. Keep checking the website for any
answers issues by the Minister on this issue.

Will the Minister confirm that the National Minimum Standards for
Regulated Childcare will be updated and when they will be
finished.

Will the Welsh Government consult the child minding sector before
launching the updated National Minimum Standards for Regulated
Childcare in order to seek their agreement and confirm that they
meet sector requirements.
