Resigning from Ofsted register
Ofsted is writing to childminders in England who, according to
their records, have not cared for children in the last three
years.
The letter from Ofsted outlines their intention to cancel the
registration of these childminders and invites them to resign their
registration or provide evidence that they have indeed cared for
children during this time.
Ofsted has produced a briefing sheet outlining some
frequently asked questions about this process. You can view the
document here. There is more information about when Ofsted will
inspect childminders not currently caring for children in their
factsheet, "The
process and guidance for inspecting childminders and childcare
settings with no children on roll or no children present at the
time of the inspection."
