Supporting you
...to support the children in your
care
Along with healthcare workers, childminders
and nannies are well placed to help families cope, offering
flexible childcare and working in partnership with parents to
nurture their child’s development.
We're aware that many NCMA members are already
playing a supportive role, caring for children that have families
grappling with difficulties, such as postnatal depression,
divorce, bereavement, step families, health problems etc.
In September, we asked you whether you feel
that you have enough support and knowledge of these issues to deal
with them adequately. 70.6% of you who voted told us that you
would benefit from additional information.
In order to support you to support the
children and families you work with, NCMA has partnered with
Relate, experts in children’s reactions to divorce and separation,
to create the first of a new range of NCMA children’s welfare
factsheets.
