This week Ofsted has updated its publications and has produced
guidance for registered childminders and childcare providers to
assist them if they need to object to decisions made about their
registration, or if they intend to change their registration
recommendations or conditions.
The publication,
Ofsted: How to object - Guidance for Registered Childminders and
Childcare Providers (external link) is available from the
Ofsted website.
On 29 October Ofsted also launched its updated Self Evaluation
Form (SEF). The new form gives clear guidance on which parts have
changed, and compares it to the old form.
Any information that has been saved online using the existing
SEF will be transferred over to the new format, and users will be
able to see where the information has been moved to. Any
existing completed SEFs that have been submitted as part of the
inspection process will remain in the old format and a new one will
need to be started in the latest format.
Any technical queries should be directed to Ofsted's helpline on
08456 404040.
