Vouchers u-turn
Sustainability maintained by government u-turn
The government's u-turn on the removal of tax benefits through the
childcare voucher scheme has been welcomed by leading childcare
charity, the National Childminding Association.
Catherine Farrell, Joint Chief Executive of NCMA, said:
"We welcome that the government has listened to the concerns of
working parents, particularly those on lower incomes.
Childcare Vouchers have proved a useful supplement for many
families and universal support for families to pay for quality
childcare, particularly during this economic downturn, is necessary
to make childcare more affordable, and in turn more
sustainable."
