SEN Green Paper response
NCMA has responded to the Government's Green Paper: Children and
Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
Research undertaken on behalf of NCMA revealed that more than
nine in ten parents of disabled children or children with Special
Educational Needs reported difficulties in finding childcare that
was accessible to their child and provide the right kind of care to
meet their needs.
NCMA's response demonstrates how registered childminders and
nannies can support disabled children and children with SEN
and considers how more should be done to utilise the skills and
experience of childminders through childminding networks and
funding streams.
