Engaging childminders
Helping children's centres work with
childminders
Where you engage with childminders in core offer phase 1, 2 or 3
as a children's centre you are asked to give "...support to
childminders via a coordinated network but also to other
childminders in the area, for example by providing training, loan
of toys and equipment and drop in sessions"
There are many ways you may have found to
engage with the registered childminders in your community. NCMA has
developed this
good practice checklist template based on the good
practice NCMA has observed.
Using the children's centre childminder engagement
checklists
These good practice checklists can help you make the most
of your working relationships with the childminders in your area.
Think about the stage you're at currently and choose the option
that most closely matches your answer to the following
question:
How do you currently engage with childminders?
