NCMA as a training provider
NCMA has many years of experience in writing and delivering
training courses for new and established childminders across
England and Wales.
As well as a popular e-learning course, NCMA tutors can deliver face
to face training. And many of NCMA's tutors have been childminders
as well, and so understand the work childminders do.
Childminder registration means that all childminders must take
an introductory
course in home-based childcare, recognised by
their local authority*. They must also hold a paediatric
first-aid certificate at the point of registration. Training can be
done at a college or training centre or via distance learning. NCMA
offers an introductory childminding course via e-learning -
ideal to fit in other commitments.
The same course can be delivered face-to-face by experienced
NCMA childminding tutors - email NCMA at newdiploma@ncma.org.uk to
find out more about how NCMA can deliver training on your
behalf.
NCMA staff can help you develop and implement your training plan
to support childminders. Contact NCMA in your area for more information
and advice.
*Because some local authorities have different requirements for
the introductory course, prospective childminders should check
which courses are recognised in their area.
