Funding your training

Training is an essential element of being a childminder, but it's not always easy to find the time and money to access the training you need.

Many childminders plan a set number of training days into their contract with parents, meaning they can devote time to developing their skills and knowledge.

Members of childminding networks often have access to extra training as well, and if you work with a children's centre (in England) or an integrated centre (in Wales), find out about whether you can join their staff training sessions.

There are bursaries and funds available to help with paying for training. Read more about the Gail Hall Memorial Fund here.
