Early Years Professionals

Small boyEarly Years Professionals (EYPs) are role models to other people working in the early years workforce, acting as change agents and leading and supporting others to improve practice.

Childminders can become EYPs, underlining the professional position that childminders hold in the early years workforce.

To become an EYP you need to gain Early Years Professional status – a level 6 qualification – by demonstrating you meet a series of national graduate-level EYP standards in working with children aged 0-5.

For eligible candidates, all EYPS training pathways are fully funded.

You can find out more and download a free information pack about Early Years Professional Status by visiting www.cwdcouncil.org.uk/eyps (external link) or calling the Children’s Workforce Development Council on 08000 113745.
