Qualifications audit tool
Be top of your game with the audit tool
The Children's Workforce Development Council (CWDC) has recently
made improvements to its qualifications
audit tool and you can register on it now. The
changes have made the tool more relevant for childminders. The
audit tool also now features a simplified login and the flexibility
to record qualifications when using it for the first time.
The tool helps you to take control of your professional
development, and helps highlight the skills and development needs
of childminders, so register as soon as you can.
Once completed, you will only have to update the information as
and when your details change so there’s no annual
requirement. It will also help to build a more accurate
picture of the skills in the Early Years workforce.
Just a few of the benefits for childminders
- You can include information about you, your training and
qualifications.
- Allows you to get your skills recognised as well as
highlighting development opportunities.
- Helps with Ofsted inspections because you can get quick and
easy access to information about your qualifications and training
which might be needed.
- Can assist when approaching local authorities for future
development opportunities as well as enabling planning future
training needs.
Support materials
An online toolkit of materials is available to help support
childminders, local authorities and settings with future planning.
The toolkit includes case studies, an overview of benefits for
childminders as well as presentations which can be adapted by users
to promote use locally.

The audit tool has been developed by CWDC and in consultation
with NCMA.
