Integrated Qualifications Framework
What is the IQF?
The Integrated Qualifications Framework (IQF) was
launched in April 2010. By providing a practical guide to
sector approved qualifications for those working with children and
young people, it will play a key role in achieving a more
integrated workforce.
When a qualification is included in the IQF you can be certain
that it is nationally accredited, reflects the Common Core of Skills
and Knowledge and supports integrated working. The Diploma for
the Children and Young People's Workforce is on the IQF.
Whether you work with children and young people for all or part
of your job, or you are a volunteer, IQF qualifications will help
you develop your skills, and improve your ability to move from one
job to another. All qualifications on the IQF are new or revised
and are also included on the Qualifications
and Credit Framework (QCF) or the Framework for Higher
Education.
In time, the IQF will become an essential
resource for employers and careers advisers by helping to map out
career progression across the workforce and showing how
qualifications link to one another.
The IQF is a partnership project between CWDC,
Creative & Cultural Skills, General Social Care Council,
General Teaching Council, Lifelong Learning-UK, ,National College
for Leadership of Schools and Children's Services, Nursing &
Midwifery Council, Qualifications and Curriculum Development
Agency, SkillsActive, Skills for Health, Skills for Justice and
Training & Development Agency for Schools.
